I've always been afraid of spiders so I'm here trying to see if I can get used to them, at least online! Once time I was taking a bath and saw that a huge spider on the wall opposite. I had to scream for my 23 year old son to come and get rid of it. I was even too afraid to get out of the bath. My son came in but the spider managed to get away and then he had to look for it. So you can imagine the scene, there I was completely naked in the bath while my son stood around waiting for the spider to re-emerge. After a few minutes he caught it in a cup and the drama was over. Those spiders do cause a lot of trouble!

Recently I decided to work on a project involving spiders, even though I don't enjoy looking at them all that much. (Rather scary looking *shivers*) I do find them to be a very interesting and amazing creature however. Your site is great, and the photos are super! I found everything I was looking for. (Pictures to base drawings off of, information about the types of spiders, etc.) Thanks so much!

My husband found one of these crawling across his foot while watching tv in our basement. This thing is HUGE! Scared the crap out of us. I didn't know what kind of spider it was until I came across your site. Thanks. Oh, one question, is it poisonous? My daughter wants to keep it, so I'm debating on whether or not to kill it or let her keep it in the jar. Thing is scary looking!

After finding an unknown spider (later identified as a "Mouse Spider" by image on your site) in our Fire Station I thought your site was most helpfull in identifiying the little terror... Cheers.

I failed entomology class, which had a section on spiders and even I know that a Daddy Long Legs is NOT a Spider. Please please please change your info on that, or I will sick my entomology teacher on your arse. :D
Comment from Steve: it is a common name for that spider in Australia. I'm ready for your teacher :)

Excellent! I found your web site after reading about Steve Irwin. He mentioned a Golden Orb and then I found your site. I learned a long time ago to face my fears and your photos and information was awesome helping me somewhat to try to get over my fear of spiders! I especially liked the Wolf Spider; my kind of gal!
Thanks for the great work and pictures.
